Acceptance Speech by Roderick Brathwaite – AFP Imaging

On behalf of AFP Imaging I would like to thank CATT, and Polytechnic University, for presenting us with the Technology Impact Award.  As we all know, converting Analog to Digital in the medical industry is challenging yet exciting.  Our digital product line, EVA, was developed and manufactured at our Elmsford, NY office and is our leading product in replacing analog photographic film with digital imaging.  more

Acceptance Speech by Robert DiFazio – InterDigital

On behalf of InterDigital, I'd like to thank the CATT here at Polytechnic for this award, and New York State for funding and encouraging so much of the research that is done here.   InterDigital develops wireless technology that lets people exchange megabits per second of voice and data over the air, and there are many challenges in making everything work well. more

Acceptance Speech by Stuart Elby – Verizon Communications

It is an honor and a privilege to accept this award on behalf of Verizon. Twenty-five years is a very long time for any entity to survive in the telecommunications space.  And for a research center to thrive and grow as the CATT has validates what we, from the former NYNEX Science & Technology, have always known: Poly's CATT is a very special place that has and continues to bring the best academic talent to bear on the most critical problems to our industry. more

Acceptance Speech by Tom Roslak – Motorola

Motorola is honored to accept this award for our work with Polytechnic and the CATT.  Many of our engineers and scientists from the Symbol Technologies division, including our founder Dr. Jerry Swartz, are alumni from Poly.  Our work, the many inventions and the prosperity brought to our community, associates and the investment community, is a tribute to Poly.
I am personally honored to accept this award as a Poly alumnus on behalf of Motorola.

Acceptance Speech by Mike Lamberg – NYSE Euronext

First, I would like to congratulate the CATT for their remarkable technology-driven contributions to the field of telecommunications the last 25 years.  I was first made aware of their capabilities when I started working at SIAC in 1990.  That is when a high-speed system connection was running at 19.2kbs bisync and your aggregated wide area backbone was a blazing T1 (we've come a long way).more

Acceptance Speech by Kiran Challapalli – Philips Research NA

Congratulations to CATT on your 25th Anniversary!!
I am much honored to receive this award, on behalf of Philips Research North America. The award is an acknowledgement of our fruitful collaboration as well as a tribute to the very interesting and significant research being done at CATT. It is indeed a nice way to recognize the hard work on both sides resulting in the good collaboration between Philips and CATT, and so I thank you for that.more

I am very honored to represent the Thomson Corporate Research Lab in Princeton to receive this award. Our lab has had successful research collaboration with Poly on two projects.             Thank you very much.

Acceptance Speech by Prof. Henning Schulzrinne – Columbia University

I'm honored and grateful to receive this award from the CATT.
I believe that VoIP is a very good illustration of a technology that benefited from the industry, academic collaboration offered by the CATT.         Thank you President Hultin and Professor Shiv Panwar; I am very grateful and honored by the award. I would also like to thank New York State for the enormous support of the CATT program and my own research.
A 25th anniversary is an opportunity to take stock of the past and consider the future. Starting with the past, I counted no less than 12 startups born directly out of my lab, or through the companies I co-founded – www.comverse.com of Long Island, and www.smarts.com of White Plains. more
