The first three awards recognize collaboration between companies and the CATT that led to an outstanding technological and economic impact."


"AFP Imaging is in the business of dental imagery. While making the transition from analog to digital imaging, they approached Ivan Selesnick to improve the quality of the images by devising advanced image processing algorithms. Their product now incorporates these algorithms and has led to the success of their EVA product line.  We are therefore pleased to award a Technological Impact award to AFP Imaging. Mr. Roderick Brathwaite will accept this award on behalf of AFP Imaging."

"InterDigital is a leader in design and development of wireless technologies. InterDigital worked with a team of students led by Peter Voltz and I-Tai Lu on third and fourth generation cellular systems. This effort led to the development of new technology in this area and formed part of their contribution to the standards bodies. We are therefore pleased to award a Technological Impact award to InterDigital. Mr. Robert Olesen and Mr. Robert DeFazio will accept this award on behalf of InterDigital."

"Verizon Communications and its predecessor companies have worked with CATT since its inception on a multitude of joint projects. The last two have been particularly fruitful and have substantially improved the reliability and security of the crucial signaling networks that support voice communications. The latest project was led by Henning Schulzrinne, and will help Verizon?s transition to packet based Voice over IP technology. We are therefore pleased to present a Technological Impact award to Verizon Communications. Stuart Elby and Gaston Ormazabal will accept this award on behalf of Verizon Communications."

"NYSE Euronext or SIAC has worked with CATT for about 20 years, even before we became neighbors in Metrotech. With every new technology on the Stock Exchange, CATT worked closely with SIAC to solve important problems, such as those associated with the introduction of wireless devices on the stock exchange floor.  This helped in the reliable operation of trading systems and networks, a crucial national resource.  We are therefore pleased to present an Innovation in Technology award to NYSE Euronext. "Henning Schulzrinne has been a pioneer in the development of Voice over IP technology that is supplanting circuit-switched voice,  which has been the basis of phone service since the days of Alexander Graham Bell.  He is a co-inventor of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP), which form the basis of VOIP, and additional standards for multimedia transport over the Internet.  We are therefore pleased to present the Lifetime Innovation Award to Henning Schulzrinne."

"Yechiam Yemini is that rare individual who embodies excellence in research, innovation and entrepreneurship.  He was already a successful entrepreneur before he joined CATT. He then started System Management Arts or SMARTS, a company with over 150 employees that developed network management solutions. This company was acquired by EMC Corporation. He is now working on yet another start up called Arootz. In all his ventures he brings technological innovation and an unerring vision of the market.  We are therefore pleased to present the Lifetime Entrepreneurial Award to Yechiam Yemini."
